May 4, 2020
To Misericordia Siblings, Families and Artist In All Supporters,
First and foremost, we hope this letter finds you and your loved ones safe and healthy. We wanted to take a moment to thank you for your continued support and devotion to Misericordia Heart of Mercy. Throughout the years, you have been there for us in supporting our mission. We could not continue to provide the highest quality of residential care to our 600 children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities who call Misericordia "Home" without your time, talent and generosity.
Our most resident-centered event, The Artist in All™, was scheduled for May 20, 2020. However, due to the “Shelter-in-place” regulations during this horrific virus, The Artist in All™ will not be able to take place as it has in the past. The health and safety of our residents, staff, volunteers and guests are our number one concern and priority.
That being said, the show must go on! Our residents have worked extremely hard on their art pieces for this event and through the magic of the Internet; we are going to bring The Artist in All™ to you! From the comfort and convenience of your own home, we will be utilizing online bidding and a virtual program to showcase this year’s artwork and artists.
Please join us, virtually, for this year’s 23rd annual Artist in All™ scheduled for September 29, 2020. Details will follow.
The Art Therapy, Resource and Developmental Training programs have facilitated the creation of numerous beautiful paintings, hand-painted furniture and glass pieces, ceramics, jewelry and photography at Misericordia. All of the proceeds from this incredible event will go directly into our work opportunities. We would not be able to continue these wonderful, life-affirming programs without your support. We would like to acknowledge our presenting sponsor, the Mazza Foundation, and the many grand sponsors who have already made this commitment for 2020. Thank you for your belief in our mission.
Sister Rosemary Connelly, our Executive Director, joins Bob and Jim Snediker and Caitlin Deptula, The Artist in All™ co-chairs, and the Sibling Board in thanking you for your continued support of our artists and the vital programs Misericordia provides for our residents on a daily basis to ensure they have the highest quality of life. We will have more details regarding this year’s reimagined The Artist in All™ to follow.
